What is life coaching?
Life coaching is a structured and non-clinical method that affords clients—sometimes called learners—the ability to benefit from training and guidance in order to achieve specific goals. A less regulated intervention strategy, coaching may be conducted with a diverse range of clients, and without a specific license.
Some non-exhaustive examples of coaching goals with which Deric assists clients include:
-
Life transitions (e.g., moving from one career field to a completely different type of work)
-
Assertiveness training (e.g., how to self-advocate without experiencing guilt)
-
Fitness goal attainment (e.g., addressing unhelpful routines)
-
Habit extinction (e.g., how to stop biting fingernails)
-
Social anxiety (e.g., increasing stress tolerance in group settings)
