What were your previous occupations?

Prior to entering private practice on his own, Deric worked with a group of private practice mental health practitioners (counselors and social workers) in Austin, Texas. Before that, he focused on life coaching for a range of individuals across Texas.

 

Deric has also worked for mental health-aligned organizations at the state and federal level. For practicum and intern experience while earning his degrees, Deric participated in criminal justice diversion, emergency department over-utilization, youth-focused intervention, and veteran outreach programs.

 

Additionally, Deric was in the United States Marine Corps (USMC) at one point. He went places and did things. Oh, and Deric also once worked on a farm for a few days in high school, though he preferred honing his skills as a life coach to shoveling manure.
