How Could You Ever Right These Wrongs When You Don't Even Write Your Songs?

On his album DAYTONA (2018), lyricist Pusha T released the song “Infrared” which was produced by lyricist Kanye West. The track features samples from 24-Carat Black’s “I Want to Make Up” (2009) and lyricist Jay-Z’s “The Prelude” (2006).
Noteworthy, Pusha T says, “How could you ever right these wrongs when you don’t even write your songs?” Per one source, the lyricist dissed rapper Drake with that line for the latter’s alleged use of a ghostwriter (a person hired to write rhymes which are credited to someone else).
Thinking of an issue regarding my approach to Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) by clients who neglect to think for themselves, Pusha T’s line resonates with me, as I said in Are You Outsourcing Your Ability to Think Critically?:
[S]ome of my clients have expressed that AIs have helpfully assisted in their understanding of REBT concepts in between our sessions. However, others have admitted to overly relying on information obtained from digital mechanisms.
I consider such use of AI as a form of outsourcing (a practice in which an individual uses external providers or sources to carry out various processes that would otherwise be handled by the person [like a ghostwriter]). This is concerning in regard to critical thinking.
Of this matter, I’m reminded of the Ouija (a flat board purportedly allowing the dead an ability to contact the living). In childhood, my parents strongly discouraged me from going near this instrument, as they expressed concern with literal ghosts who wrote (i.e., ghostwriters).
Now, I contemplate The Matrix-esque Ouija used by clients. Unlike concern with the supernatural, I take a more pragmatic approach to this matter, as one source states, “Adults who offload thinking to AI lose capacity they built. Children may never build it at all.”
From my view, remixing Push T’s line, how could you ever independently get by when all you know how to do is use AI? Do you want to stunt your ability to problem solve on your own? If so, overreliance on digital Ouija (i.e., AI) is the way to bring about that end.
If you’re looking for a provider who tries to work to help you understand how thinking impacts physical, mental, emotional, and behavioral elements of your life, I invite you to reach out today by using the contact widget on my website.
