Per one source, “Raja [“Da Clone”] Jackson, the son of Quinton (Rampage) Jackson, a former UFC light-heavyweight champion, assaulted a professional wrestler during an independent event on Saturday [8/23/2025] in Los Angeles, according to a recording of the match.”

Regarding online video footage, it appears as though Da Clone and wrestler Stuart “Syko Stu” Smith were involved in a verbal altercation prior to the alleged incident which involved assault (the threat or attempt to inflict physical harm) and battery (the actual act of causing harmful or offensive physical contact).

Concerning my interpretation of available visual evidence, Syko Stu ostensibly simulated a professional wrestling move on Da Clone whereby the former appears to have mimicked the crushing of a canned beverage on the head of the latter. It seems as though it was unexpected.

After various other individuals intervened, Syko Stu apologized to Da Clone and viewers are given the impression that an arranged professional wrestling appearance by the latter was forthcoming. Seemingly, Da Clone would be included in a subsequent wrestling match.

However, one source reports that after Da Clone appears to have slammed Syko Stu to the professional wrestling mat, “Jackson then mounts Smith in the video and punches him almost two dozen times in the face before other wrestlers pull him off.” It seems like actual battery.

During the match, Chief Keef’s song “I Don’t Like”, from his 2012 album Finally Rich, was played. Produced by Young Chop and featuring Lil Reese, lyrics include, “I’m killin’ these niggas, shit that they don’t like (No). Broski got the thirty; he ain’t tryna fight (Bang).”

For the record, as a matter of principle, I maintain that people are considered innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law. Therefore, I’m not suggesting guilt herein. Rather, I’m merely focusing on what appears to have been an incident involving assault and battery.

What I witnessed, if the footage is true, was Syko Stu lying motionless on the wrestling mat after allegedly being repeatedly battered on or around his head. As someone who has traumatic brain injury (TBI), I suspect that Syko Stu may be forever altered as a result of the event.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson appears to have addressed the situation by stating that Da Clone “suffered a concussion from sparring only days ago and had no business doing anything remotely close to physical contact.” Apparently, TBI is an underlying theme in this circumstance.

Toward the end of the video in question, Da Clone is depicted walking away from the event and stating, “Tired of muh’fuckas playin’ wit’ me, bruh. Real shit! […] At the end of the day, I’mma stand up for my fuckin’ self, because I’m tired of everybody fuckin’ playin’ wit’ me, bruh!”

Presuming the video footage actually depicts assault and battery, I now view this matter through the lens of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). For the sake of discussion, I imagine that Da Clone used a referential index shift when stating that “everybody” was playing with him.

For context, this occurs when changing the point of reference by shifting from “I” to “you” in a sentence, as a means of altering the perspective or creating a different focus. In Da Clone’s case, I suspect that “everybody” actually relates to Syko Stu.

Also, it’s worth noting that REBT uses the ABC model to illustrate that when an undesirable Action occurs and Da Clone likely Believes an unhelpful narrative about the event, it’s his assumption, not the occurrence itself, that causes Da Clone’s unpleasant Consequence.

As an example, when Syko Stu apparently simulated the crushing of a canned beverage on Da Clone’s head (Action), Da Clone perceivably Believed, “I’m tired of everybody playin’ wit’ me, because I can’t stand bein’ disrespected, bruh! So I ought to beat the brakes off this muh’fucka!”

With that presumed inner monologue, Da Clone ostensibly experienced anger (emotion), felt a rapid heartbeat (sensation), and he proceeded to apparently batter Syko Stu (behavior) – all of which was an unpleasant Consequence of the perceived unhelpful Belief.

Addressing how people upset themselves with unhelpful attitudes, the ABC model incorporates Disputation of unproductive philosophies of life in order to explore Effective new beliefs. Whereas rigid beliefs cause self-disturbance, flexible beliefs result in an un-disturbed condition.

The process of challenging internal monologues can take longer than I care to demonstrate herein. Thus, in the interest of time, imagine that after a period of rigorous Disputation Da Clone eventually used the Effective new belief:

When I say that I’m tired of everybody playin’ wit’ me, I actually mean that I don’t like Syko Stu’s behavior. Still, I don’t have to like it. The relevant question is: Can I stand it? Yes, I can! Instead of beatin’ the brakes off this muh’fucka, I could instead use my voice.

I could say, “Bein’ hit with a can up’side my head, that’s the shit I don’t like!” Besides, it isn’t manly to be enraged. Truly, I don’t wanna hand my power over to someone who acts out fighting when I’m actually capable of fighting. In fact, I’m just gonna walk away, because Syko Stu ain’t worth my time!

Unfavorably, the potentially complicating factor of TBI may impair a person’s ability to effectively use the ABC model if an individual is already on the brink of self-disturbance (ask me how I know). Therefore, I find it helpful to daily practice a separate REBT strategy.

For context, REBT uses the technique of unconditional acceptance (UA) to relieve self-induced suffering. This is accomplished through use of unconditional self-acceptance (USA), unconditional other-acceptance (UOA), and unconditional life-acceptance (ULA).

For instance, Da Clone could’ve told himself, “I can control only myself [USA]—and no one else, even when fallible people do things with which I disagree [UOA]. Although I could beat the brakes off this muh’fucka, doin’ so wouldn’t erase what was done in the past [ULA].”

Whereas the ABC model is a scientific approach to wellness, UA serves as a philosophical method for un-disturbing yourself. I view the former as an abortive approach to disturbance and the latter as a preventative method. As someone who has TBI, I use both of these helpful tools.

Unfortunately, the past is passed. It cannot be undone. Therefore, I hope Syko Stu makes a speedy recovery and that Da Clone learns a method of rational living that keeps him from future acts whereby he perceivably presents as a danger to the public. REBT is one such approach!
